Downloading setups and installing

Download and Install

Before proceeding, you should download and install both rndware psyBNC Server and Windows Ident Server from www.rndware.info.

After installing rndware psyBNC Server, create a file named "identreply.txt" in C:\Program Files\rndware\rndware psyBNC Server\.

Configuring psyBNC

Click "Edit psyBNC config" in psyBNC launcher.

From there, you can edit the IP and port of psyBNC. It is recommended that you change the port; however leaving it to 31337 can be easier for users used to connecting to this port.

Save the config file and exit your text editor.

Configuring Windows Ident Server

Open Windows Ident Server, click the Control-menu and click on Options.

Click the "Reply from file"-tab.

Enable Reply-from-file. Point the "use the following file to read idents from"-box to "C:\Program Files\rndware\rndware psyBNC Server\identreply.txt" (or the equivalent path for your system configuration).

Close the Options-dialog.

Running the two servers

Run Windows Ident Server by using the Start > Programs-menu and select Control > Active.

Run psyBNC launcher (also by using the Start-menu) and select a start method. Click OK, and psyBNC should also be active.

Connecting to your newly created psyBNC Server

Connect to <yourip>:<psybncport> using your IRC client. If you are using mIRC, the command could be:

/SERVER bnc.rndware.info 31337

If you are the first user connecting to the server, you will automatically be asked to create an administrator-level user. Use the BHELP command to list all the commands available to you. E.g. in mIRC:

/BHELP
